This August, I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Maglić, the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with Bosnia Trust to raise funds for the widows of Srebrenica.

As someone who works in healthcare, I have dedicated my career to supporting and caring for people through some of life's most difficult moments. Compassion, resilience, and service to others are values that guide me both professionally and personally. When I learned about the opportunity to combine my love of hiking with raising awareness and support for such an important cause, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of.

The story of Srebrenica is one that continues to resonate decades later. The genocide left thousands of families devastated and many women carrying the immense burden of loss while rebuilding their lives and caring for their families. Despite their hardships, the widows of Srebrenica have shown extraordinary strength, dignity, and perseverance.

Hiking has always been more than just a hobby for me. It provides an opportunity to challenge myself, appreciate nature, and reflect on what truly matters. Climbing Mount Maglić will be both a physical and personal journey, and throughout the climb I will be thinking about the resilience of the women this fundraiser seeks to support.

My goal is to raise £1,500 to help provide practical assistance to the widows of Srebrenica through the work of Bosnia Trust. Every donation, no matter the amount, will contribute towards making a meaningful difference in their lives.
