Climbing Mount Maglić for Widows of Srebrenica
Rawdhat
This August, I will be climbing Mount Maglić, the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to raise £1,500 for the widows of Srebrenica.
As I prepare for this challenge, I keep thinking of the mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters whose lives were shattered by the genocide. Women who lost everything, yet continue to carry their grief with patience, dignity, and faith. Their strength is a reminder of the words of the Prophet ﷺ: “Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection.”
Every step I take will be for them for the sake of Allah.
I cannot begin to understand their pain, but I can help honour their resilience and support those still living with the consequences of the genocide. Through this climb, I hope to raise funds to continue the vital support already in place with Bosnia Trust and ease some of the burdens these women still carry.
Please donate whatever you can. Even the smallest gift can make a real difference.
May Allah reward your generosity and accept this effort from us all. Ameen.
