Climbing Mount Maglić for Widows of Srebrenica
Sogol
This August, I’ll be hiking Mount Maglic, not just for the challenge, but to raise awareness and funds for the women, elderly, and vulnerable communities still carrying the weight of the Bosnian genocide.
What makes this journey different is the chance to sit with those communities, to listen to their stories, and to witness the pain still etched into their collective memory. At a time when history is repeating itself before our eyes in Gaza and Lebanon, this trip is a quiet reminder of the deep, ongoing care needed to rebuild lives with dignity.
Your donation will directly support the Widow’s Counselling programme, a safe space where women can be heard, seen, and consoled as they tend to wounds that remain painfully fresh. I’ll be visiting these projects in person and meeting the incredible people whose lives your kindness will touch.
With a heart that’s simply yearning to listen and carry these stories, I’m aiming to raise £500 to fund professional counselling focused on healing, stability, and social reintegration. But the true monthly cost of this service is at least £1,500, so I’d be deeply grateful for every contribution that helps me stretch toward that number!
Please donate whatever you can. And if giving isn’t possible right now, sharing this page is just as meaningful.
May we live to see a world where such horrors are only memories, and where healing softly takes their place.
Blessings
