Meet Maymuna: Baking Her Way to £1,000 for Bosnia

A 10-year-old with a big goal

Maymuna is 10 years old, she loves baking, and she has set herself a challenge that would impress any adult: a whole year of baking to raise £1,000 for orphans and widows in Bosnia by August 2027.

From cookies for bake sales to boxes made to order, every penny Maymuna raises goes straight to Bosnia Trust's orphans and widows work. We are so proud to have her on our team, and we wanted to share her story with you.

Why Maymuna is baking

Many families in Bosnia are still struggling. Some children have lost their mum or dad, and many mothers are raising their families on their own. Maymuna wanted to do something to help, and she chose the thing she loves most.

The money she raises helps Bosnia Trust provide food, warm clothes and support, so children can go to school and feel cared for.

In 2027, Maymuna will visit Bosnia with her scout group. Her hope is to tell the families there how many people back home are thinking of them. Every donation and every cookie bought adds to that message.

How she's getting on

So far, Maymuna has raised £130 towards her £1,000 target.

Maymuna will keep posting updates and photos throughout the year, so check back to see how she's doing.

How you can help Maymuna

  • Donate on Maymuna's fundraising page donation page link. Every amount brings her closer to £1,000.

  • Order a box of bakes or come along to one of her bake sales.

  • Share her page with your family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who has already supported Maymuna. Jazakallahu khayran. Her kindness is a reminder that anyone, at any age, can make a real difference to families in Bosnia.
